Thoughtful design, style and comfort in a vertical jewel at Artyzen Singapore

Artyzen Singapore commands attention from the moment it comes into view. Every corner, fixture, and burst of greenery feels deliberate, which is a rich mix of contemporary luxury layered with a sense of heritage. The building rises gracefully amid the skyline, presenting itself as a carefully curated space for travelers drawn to thoughtful design.

I arrived after the TravMedia IMM conference in October, and even from a distance, the property stood out. By the time I reached the entrance, the tone was set: modern but warm, luxurious without trying too hard. What caught my eye immediately was the abundance of greenery, built into the structure rather than added onto it. It’s easily one of the most plant-dense hotels I’ve stayed in, with foliage softening concrete and steel at every turn.

Inside, the rope-textured wall art by the elevators is one of the first things guests encounter. It’s a quiet nod to Singapore’s maritime heritage, and you pass it often enough that it becomes part of the rhythm of the stay, subtly tying the hotel’s aesthetic together.

Check-in was smooth. On the way to the room, barrel-vaulted entryways set a calm tone, leading to corridors that feel refined without being intimidating. Entering the room, the curtains drew back automatically to reveal a city view framed by greenery. It’s a small but satisfying detail that hints at the hotel’s thoughtful approach to comfort.

Open yet intimate

The room itself offered a mix of design and ease. High ceilings, ceiling fans, plush carpeting, and a private balcony made the space feel open yet intimate. Every detail felt intentional, with the curated artwork, the lighting, the bed that suggested a slow morning, and sliding panels that allowed the bedroom to be separated from the foyer for privacy.

Even the bathroom balanced beauty and function, with a deep bathtub, fragrant toiletries, and well-placed fixtures. Mid-afternoon, a knock at the door delivered house-made snacks—sino spice anchovies and peanuts and spiced caramel popcorn—small touches that added both flavor and warmth to the experience.

Artyzen’s rooms are designed to be more than a place to drop your bags. Deluxe and Premier Balcony rooms share the same thoughtful elements, with high ceilings, refined textures, and a color palette that feels both soothing and sophisticated. Suites extend the experience with terrace spaces that feel like sunlit hideaways above the city.

Familiar dishes with updated touches

When it comes to dining options, Café Quenino serves familiar local dishes with updated touches, while Quenino presents a more refined Southeast Asian menu grounded in the chef’s heritage. The Roof Garden, meanwhile, offers relaxed sunset cocktails with generous city views. Each venue stands on its own but still feels connected, and it’s obvious that the dining program at Artyzen Singapore is built on coherence rather than contrast.

Wellness is treated with the same level of care. The dedicated wellness floor features a 24-hour gym with advanced equipment, guided movement classes, and calming treatments. The pool and outdoor areas are visually striking, built around curves, foliage, and an unobstructed view of the city.

The orchids scattered throughout the property (regularly refreshed from a nursery) add a subtle, living element that sets the hotel apart from typical city stays.

During my tour, I got to see the Presidential Suite, which stood out as one of the largest I’ve ever stepped into. Spanning over 400 square meters, it feels like a private residence, complete with multiple bedrooms, expansive living areas, and a terrace designed for quiet moments or celebratory ones. It showcases how the hotel plays with scale, offering grand spaces without losing its sense of ease.

Quiet philosophy of thought ease

What ties the experience together is the subtle storytelling woven into the design. The site once housed Villa Marie, a mansion known for its gardens, and that spirit carries through in the modern version of the space, not through literal replicas, but through choices that favor life, movement, and openness. Even the courtesy car, ready to bring guests to nearby spots, fits that quiet philosophy of thoughtful ease.

My stay at Artyzen Singapore was shaped by the details—the plants, the textures, the flow of the rooms, the small gestures that appear just when you need them. It’s a hotel that balances luxury with warmth. Even with its heritage influences and refined design, it remains approachable, inviting guests to explore and linger.

A stay here slows you down in the best way. Whether returning from work or wandering through the city, you come back to a space that encourages you to notice the light, appreciate the quiet, and settle into comfort that feels genuine.
