Sleep isn’t just a nightly routine anymore, but a form of preventive health. That was the message at the recent launch of the Perfect Spine Collection, a collaboration between global mattress brand Serta and home lifestyle retailer Our Home, held at SM Megamall.
The event highlighted the importance of sleep quality and why it is increasingly linked to overall well-being—and how the right mattress can make all the difference.

Cardiac surgeon Dr. John Andrew Ma-Ñang opened the discussion with a reminder that good sleep supports heart health, hormonal balance, and recovery.
“When the spine isn’t properly supported at night, the body stays tense, and tension blocks full recovery,” he said. “This can lead to high blood pressure, hormonal imbalance, and long-term cardiovascular risks.”
That science-backed insight underscored the purpose behind Serta’s new line. Designed with zoned support technology, the Perfect Spine Collection aims to align the body’s natural curvature while maintaining cooling comfort throughout the night, offering what Serta calls “restorative sleep made simple.”

“Comfort and alignment go hand in hand,” said John Rosagas, director of the RGC Group of Companies, which distributes Serta in the Philippines. “The Perfect Spine Collection was designed to provide proper spinal alignment and cooling comfort. We hope this innovation helps more Filipinos look forward to going home to their beds.”
At the launch, guests were invited to test the new collection, which ranges from firm to plush variants, and experience how it adapts to different sleep styles.

Our Home’s Senior Assistant Vice President for Marketing Gloria Carmino said the partnership with Serta shows a shared goal of making high-quality rest accessible to Filipino households. “Great design isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about how it makes you feel,” she said. “Today, sleep is wellness.”
Actress Ina Raymundo and lifestyle personality Reza also joined the program to share how mindful sleep habits have improved their routines. Raymundo, a fitness advocate and mother of five, called sleep her “non-negotiable reset,” while Reza reminded guests to keep their bedrooms as true rest spaces—free from distractions and supported by the right mattress.

The collaboration comes at a time when sleep deprivation has quietly become a public health concern. Several studies show that Filipinos average fewer than seven hours of sleep per night, a figure that continues to drop as work and digital habits encroach on rest. Brands like Serta and Our Home are betting that products emphasizing ergonomic design and temperature regulation can help address that.
The Perfect Spine Collection represents Serta’s latest innovation in comfort engineering, continuing the brand’s eight-decade legacy as one of the world’s leading mattress manufacturers. Our Home, known for curating global home and lifestyle brands, serves as its key retail partner in the Philippines.
Because if there’s one thing the launch made clear, it’s that better mornings start long before the alarm rings.
